Christmas biscuits

Deliciously easy, melt in the mouth biscuits with just a touch of spice

For 60 biscuits

  • 250 g flour

  • 100 g butter

  • 125 g sugar

  • 50 g almond powder

  • 1 egg

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 teaspoon of milk

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 2 teaspoon of cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon of ginger

  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg

  • 1 zest of lime

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, almond powder and spices in a bowl.

  2. Add the egg and the melted butter.

  3. Knead to get a ball. If the ball is friable add a tablespoon of water.

  4. Roll out the pastry, cut it with pastry cutters. Put the biscuits in a baking tray covered with a baking paper.

  5. Preheat the oven at 200C.

  6. Brush the biscuit with the egg yolk mixed with a teaspoon of milk.

  7. Bake in the oven for 7 minutes.

  8. Let them cool down and store in an air tight container.
